Vancouver Feline Hospital opened October 2003. Our committment is to provide gentle compassionate care to every cat.

We are a family practice with a family approach to feline medicine. Dr. Nicky Joosting is the only veterinarian, so you will always see the same veterinarian. The Hospital is well equipped, with digital technology wherever possible - and more is planned. By using the best medical technology available, we can meet our goal of a warm welcome environment providing the gentle care cats appreciate.

Our Annual Health Exams and consultations are geared to give you the information you need to prevent future veterinary problems. We talk a lot, so consultation times can be over 30 minutes, depending on need.

Our experience is broad and encompasses kittens to the very old cat. Special areas of expertise are feline dentistry and sick cat care. We work together with Pharmacists and other veterinarians (with full access to specialists both in Vancouver and over the Internet) to provide the best solution for your cat.

When your cat stays over for treatment, he/she will benefit from the clean large cages providing enough space for separate toilet and sleeping areas (soft cushion or a hidy box), ensuring maximum comfort and welfare. We believe that this and lots of love and TLC plays a very positive role in the recovery of these fastidious creatures.

We do stock "prescription" food (MediCal, Royal Canin, Hills), and preventative health products such as flea preventatives, dewormers, and feline vitamins. It has never been our intention to run a pet food store, so we keep a limited stock. The order is placed weekly on Tuesday mornings, and if you call us before, we will order and set aside the items for you.

Boarding space is limited to current clients. Our two large kennels in a seperate room are used by those cats that that need skilled care, such as diabetics, geriatrics or cats with chronic medical conditions. In peak periods we may place boarding cats in our medical room, depending on need.
